'Tomorrow's Memoir' was a very modest project, shot over 2 months (mainly weekends) with a very small budget, generous donations, and a predominately volunteer crew.

After 4 years of working on various small live-action and animated projects, writer/director JIM CLIFFE used his experience and artistic background to try and helm a professional project of his own in a lead creative role.

Jim's professional background mainly consisted of illustration and animation, and although he had worked on several amateur shorts (winning a few small awards in that time), his goal was to approach 'Tomorrow's Memoir' in the most professional way possible with the very limited budget that he had available.

It was at this point that Jim had many discussions with his friend and professional colleague, KULCHERA MATSON, who had been establishing herself as a bit of a filmmaking pioneer in their community. Kulchera had produced several small shorts, and her own writing/directing talents had been recognized by the National Screen Institute of Canada, as well as BC Film. Together, Kulchera and Jim also lead their city's Independent Filmmaking Society as president and vice-president.

Jim had tremendous faith and respect for Kulchera's ingenuity, savvy, and strong leadership skills, and with their combined talents, they started enlisting a team of people for a project that they knew wouldn't be ready to shoot for several months to come - structuring a plan that would not only keep costs low, but also work within everyone's schedule (as most of the cast and crew were either full-time workers, or students going to school).

Shooting started in October of 2002, and wrapped in post the following summer.
